For some reason I found different photos of this place online and when I arrived there I was shocked. Don’t expect a tradition library with lots of books. This is a modern one. Nice to go around. One of their volunteers were so nice and explained a lot about the place for us.

Great place, relaxing, ambient and fun.
If you love books you should visit this place. If you don't you will start loving them. There is a book shop also, which also has a great collection of books. The building in itself looks amazing and the terrace adds to the grandeur. Staff is helpful. Parking is free on weekends.
Nice displays and the gift shop is wonderful. So interesting and so much to buy with a great collection. Something to satisfy everyone.

The architecture is very beautiful and seems to be in good maintenance. It is close to stations and shopping areas of the Capital of Australia. I believe it is an iconic tourist attraction in Canberra. Exhibitions occur at and around the building with many opportunities to take photos and interact with the community.
Lemon tart in the cafe is great with the stained windows and wonderful outlook. Coffee excellent
It's been a while since I went to the major gallery. It looks smart and respectful. The reading room is augmented with the micro fiche and film readers. Excellent facilities.
