Very disappointing. After making a reservation and receiving a booking number throughout the week, we arrived to collect the vehicle only to be told our booking was apparently an ‘Enquiry’ and there was no vehicles available for us. The customer service assistant was very dismissive and unhelpful. We went across the road to Avis/Budget and received excellent customer service, a better price and a vehicle straight away. Upon further investigation, this is a common occurrence with Hertz not having a proper inventory system and over booking their fleet.
After a recent impact into our Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Exceed by a young female "P plater" who did not know road rules, GIO had said they had organised an Uber to take us from the repairer at Ingleburn, to Hertz at Campbelltown to get a Camry. We arrived to pick up a larger sedan, GIO failed to let Hertz know I was not vertically challenged ( 183cm ) and could not fit into a Corolla. So, after contacting GIO and speaking to Cebu, in the Philippines, a Mitsubishi Outlander (petrol) Auto was authorised. Excellent decision GIO ! The vehicle was spotless and 023,223 km on the odometer. Everything was like clockwork at HERTZ and thankyou Karen for persevering with us and the GIO issues. Expertly handled in a positive way. Well done. Hertz.
