The exhibits are very professional, informative and well presented. We were particularly impressed by the small scale battle scenes. Lots of memorabilia from individual soldiers including letters home, medals, uniforms and firearms. The aircraft and naval exhibits at the rear are amazing, so are the sound and light shows. Easily spend a full day the the AWM, there is so much to see and learn about. We found the interactions with staff to be very courteous, they are true professionals who are passionate and committed to their roles.

Very well presented albeit somber museum that both honours our fallen heroes as well as informs just how many died in various conflicts throughout the years. Lots of displays of clothing, tools and weapons used in each conflict. If you are in Canberra you must visit if only once to experience. It will leave you moved. Lest we Forget.

A place for serious history lesson. Hope every soul who defended their country rest in peace. Every soul who defended the peace O mankind should be remembered forever. I saw a letter of solder written.to his mom from the prison he was arrested, I saw many items belonging to bloody war, I saw an Australian war history for over 100 years in this place. I saw many handsome faces who given their life to this country. Australia in peace and prosperity because of them, Australians living happily because of them. May God bless Australia! May God bless those people.who love and defend their peaceful life. May God protect the peace of mankind and our planet.

Lest we Forget and I love visiting the Australian War Memorial when I'm in Canberra and pay my respects. As a Veteran myself too (I almost died in the line of duty), it has an extra significance for me. They do an incredible job and not only making it a great place of serenity to pay respects, but they also take you through different era's of warfare and remembrance. I'm due for a visit back there and can't wait. Amazing place. LOVE IT!

Mr O attended this fine establishment on a beautiful summer's day in Canberra, the Australian Capital Territory, the true heart of a great nation. This was the second visit to the War Memorial, for Mr O, and, just as the first visit, it was again a truly memorable experience. The customer service was excellent, the staff were friendly and passionate about their roles, and the displays were highly informative and professionally presented. Mr O would recommend a visit to the War Memorial to anyone who visits the Nation's Capital for business or pleasure.

Fascinating. I went with my school group and would recommend going alone, as a group you can't just absorb it properly. The building is stunning and there are no words for the emotion that just pours out of the walls engraved with those lost in the war. Patriotism, pride, sacrifice, despair, but most of all, love. We love our country. We love our people. We are Australian.

A great place to learn about our military history and wars that Australia was involved in. It’s well set out and displayed exquisitely. There are even battle sounds playing over speakers. Just a little stuffy when I went but that doesn’t deserve 1 less star. The entry is free but if you can donate, please do. They put so much effort in this place. There are many stories to read, even more displays to gape at and videos to watch too. Don’t act a fool, this place must be treated with respect to our fallen soldiers. It does get busy on the weekends. This is a must visit.

Australian War Memorial Visited on 15/3/2021 We missed the last Post Ceremony by the time we arrived, so we could only walked round the compound. Unfortunately, we did not plan to stay longer in Canberra. This review is just for the outside compound. I could identify the statues of Simon and his Donkey and Sir Edward Dunlop. (I was honoured to have the opportunity to make his 80th birthday cake).
