Terrible service, no communication skills. Incredible rude and sexist. Would not listen to me (female) but gave more attention to my partner (male). Incredibly condescending and defensive. Do NOT recommend and would highly suggest never going here. ‘Manager’ is Selwyn Johnstone, he’s the worst of it. Read all the other reviews of how terrible this page is and DO NOT GO HERE!!!

I wish there was a rating lower than 1 star to give this service. Selwyn Johnstone the "manager" was combative, rude and condescending in nature. He had no communication skills and would not listen to anything myself or my partner had to say simply interrupting, quoting some legal jargon and refusing to sign a document our bank had requested. We later contacted JP Qld Services regarding the issue who apologised profusely for Mr Johnstone's actions. I don't understand how this behaviour is deemed acceptable from someone who is meant to be serving the community. I personally will never use this service again due to how we were treated and spoken to.

I have used this service four times to have documentation verified. On all occasions I have found all of the staff exceptionally friendly and very thorough in their role. I cannot thank them enough for volunteering their time in a central location. This has made accessing a JP much easier.

Mostly good just try and avoid the guy in the 1 star reviews here and you will have a pleasant experience.

What a wonderful Community Service : ) Selwyn & Co are knowledgeable and helpful. We're lucky to have such an important service provided in convenient locations around town by people who are so friendly. Sincere thanks from a locally owned and operated Business - you made it easy and pleasurable to comply with requirements for documentation.

The older man that "helped" me was incredibly rude and does not show due care to what he is signing. Gave him my Drivers licence to ID my signature. The form I had to have verified and sign in front of the JP, as most legal documents do, he looked at my licence to verify my signature stamped it and signed off on it. I HADN'T EVEN SIGNED IT. Unacceptable. I pointed this out and was basically told that I don't know what I am talking about. I replied that I do know what I am talking about as I am also a JP and I obviously cannot sign off on my own documents. Unfortunately he was the only person in the office otherwise I would have waited and had it done properly

Appalling service and lack of knowledge. Don’t bother going here, go the courthouse where the JPs do know what they are talking about and happy to help.

I have never been treated as rudely and poorly as I was by the man named Mr Selwyn who works there. My grandmother is currently in hospital as a result of elder abuse from her carer. She has suffered physical, mental and financial abuse from her carer. My family has lodged complaints to the police, QCAT, Centrelink and many other government agencies. I was trying to get my signature verified on some paperwork to help my sister and myself to become her carer's. I did not have the original paperwork on me but a copy which had been emailed to me from my sister. All of the relevant authorities had told us that email copy's would be fine considering the circumstances. Without any knowledge of our situation Mr Selwyn refused to sign the paperwork and then told me if I really wanted to do something I should talk to the police. At this stage I wanted to punch him in the face. He has no idea what my grandmother and family have gone through, he has no idea of how many times I have been to the police and made statement. Mr Selwyn is a supporter of elderly Australia's being abused. Have been to another justice of the peace and they signed my paperwork with no problems at all
