I never felt this happy the whole year. The moment I hold the Wombat in my hand, one of the main reasons I want to visit Tasmania, it was pure bliss. The park is not much funded by Government and it may look as if it needs lot of development works. Especially, as our car was pulling into the park compound, I was a bit taken back by the looks of the surroundings. Even the drive way is not well maintained, there are no proper car parking spaces, the entrance is not that fancy etc. But, if you truly look inside, you will see a bunch of people who work hard and most importantly ready to offer their genuine care to the wildlife that resides here. And this love and affection surely outweighs even the best amenities. This place is a home for many rescue animals. They even have a small clinic and a vet to take care of such animals who get hurt. The Tasmania evil, different variety of birds, the parrots, kangaroo, wombat, koalas etc, that was lovely. And if you pay 25 you get to spend time with the animals up close. The staff are so friendly and very helpful. I found pure love and emotion that is very hard to see around these days. It was definitely one of the greatest highlights of my Tasmania trip. This was also the first time in 3 years I saw Kangaroo. Being able to walk around them, see them up close, feed them is really a great thing. I was so happy as a small kid, a emotion that I found much needed in these times of distress and tension. Perfect place to unwind and relax. Lenny the Wombat is the best and he is my baby.

Highly recommend! The night tour at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the best things we did on our trip to Tasmania. Our tour guide Chloe was very friendly and generous with her knowledge about each animal we encountered. Highlights were meeting Frank (a cockatoo who is over 100 years old!), feeding the kangaroos that also love a good chest rub, meeting Lenny the boisterous wombat, and feeding the spikey echidnas. Highly interactive and informative.

Great location with fabulous approach to wildlife care. Very well informed staff. Hand feeding kangaroos is good. Exhibits are educational. Being able to view wildlife vets operating is very innovative.

Very humorous and friendly staff explained to us the local animals of Tasmania. Please note that daily tours are only available at 11:30, 1:30 and 3:30. Please arrange your time so as not to miss the wonderful tour. Everyone can get a bag of feed to feed kangaroos. These kangaroos are very, very sweet. You can put the feed on your hand, and attentive kangaroos will eat them carefully. I suggest stroking the kangaroo's jaw, which they especially enjoy. There's also a chance to see baby kangaroos in their mother's bags. really cute. Furthermore, super nice staff will also save injured wildlife and release them to nature if appropriate. By the way, it's also a great place to enjoy Mt Wellington. All in all, it's a great place to visit with your family.

Absolutely brilliant experience. Knowledgeable tour guide and ethos is centred around rescue and reintroduction vs other local park Zoo Doo which is purely commercial. Annual passes available and very children friendly with 3 and under free entry. Highly recommended.

Cool little sanctuary just outside of Hobart. Highly recommend doing a night feed tour with Mikey, he's super passionate about what he does and really cares for the animals both inside and out of the sanctuary. Highlight of the night feed would definitely be feeding the Echidnas. Great activity for the kids both big small.
