6 weeks ago we took our 4 precious, 1930s chairs to Whitakers with a bolt of fabric and asked for a quote on re-springing, covering and re-polishing the oak frames. Mary, the co-owner, impressed us from the start with her diligent understanding of what we wanted and her knowledge of furniture overall. Their workshop is very impressive (I took a peek!). Yesterday we went down to check out the finished products and they are GORGEOUS. And, comfy at last. We are so thrilled with the job. The price was very fair and Mary is delivering the chairs to us today at no extra charge. I have no hesitation in recommending this company. They are super nice and professional with creative ideas on how to get around the individual needs of the job. This is a family business, well-established and as such, is something that our community should treasure and the result is fantastic. Thanks Mary for all your advice along the way. Great job.

Whitakers did a great job on our coffee table so we also asked them to restore our dining setting. Again a fnatastic job, it looks like new! They take great care to ensure you know what you are getting and make sure you are happy with the outcome.
Whitakers have just finished restoring three pieces of furniture for us and we couldn’t be more pleased and delighted with the work they have done. As we went through the process Marc and Mary provided really helpful advice on how we should work towards the finished item. They personally delivered the pieces back to us as they were completed and set them up in situ where we wanted them in the house. These are true craftspeople and I highly recommend them.
Bronwyn is absolutely delighted with Whitakers' recent restoration of her parents' 1950's ladies' armchair. The chair, now so comfortable to sit on, is once again structurally sound, the timber finish is beautiful and the upholstery gorgeous. We really appreciated the care taken to ensure that we were thoroughly happy with the finished product and loved having photos showing progress through the various stages. Everyone in the wider family gets a real thrill when they see it and we all are so glad that Whitakers' craftsmanship has enabled its new lease on life.
Mary and the team have helped us with several challenging projects and produced great work. They kept us in the loop at every step including sending photos of the pieces throughout the process. They gave great advice and guidance and delivered on time as promised. We will be using them again and would happily recommend them!
Whitakers Furniture Restoration were absolutely wonderful with both their service and the quality of their fabulous work. I will have no problems getting them to do other pieces in the house ageing. Thank you you were amazing.
They did a great job on the restoration....BUT at a cost 26% above the quoted price. The quote does say that the price may vary from the quote...But 26% is ridiculous! and a rort! It is unprofessional to vary a price by that much. I'd accept a /- 10 % on quoted price due variables. Don't accept an open figure on a quote....ask for /- 10%. They need to do more work on calculating an accurate quote!
