After trying in several schools in sydney , i decided to join AKA sydney and their real traditional karate. Sensei Ben is great and the people too, Totally recommended if you want to learn real karate!

My son has been a little over a year old and he loves going to class, they are people who care and help a lot from students and parents in all aspects. More than an academy they are like a family. Absolutely recommended!!!
My son (7) has been doing karate for just over a month and is absolutely loving it. The Sensai's are absolutely beyond amazing with the kids. Any questions I've ever had have been answered quickly and explained well. We are very happy with it so far
Our experience with Sensei Ben and his team had been wonderful and my kid thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and was great experience via online sessions. There was lot of hard work, quite detailed sessions, instructors spent good quality time during sessions. I would highly recommend them for karate whether in dojo or online.
Have been associated with Sensei Ben and his club since they were in Maroubra. AKA has developed my daughter’s confidence, discipline, focus and fitness. They offer classes in the dojo as well as online classes (thanks to COVID). This is a super inclusive dojo, offering classes to suit all ages and skill levels. Prices are very reasonable, and you get a gi when you join. The Active Kids voucher can be used here as well. Would recommend highly to anyone.
We found Sensei Ben and his family at the Australian Karate Academy when we came to Sydney in 2018. Our daughter had done Soo Bak Do previously but, was new to karate and what a win to find this dojo! I can’t recommend Australian Karate Academy highly enough. They’re professional, family oriented and so welcoming. Karate itself has done wonderful things for our daughter but, I believe that she’s come as far as she has due to the caring and supportive guidance she gets from this academy. Thank you to all the Senseis (especially Sensei Ben and his family) for all you do.
I have been attending the family classes in Salisbury with my boys for over a year now. It definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone but the AKA is a great place to learn this new skill. They take karate seriously but still have fun. All the teachers have been great and created an encouraging and challenging environment. But best of all, how many sports do you know where the parents can have a go with the kids as well? Well worth a try.
Absolutely fabulous. I was a beginner when I started training but in such a short time I became much more confident and more willing to push myself. Thank you Ben and team!
