After experiencing many months of pain and discomfort, I finally received a total hip replacement on 21st May 2020. I was incredibly fortunate that my GP referred me to Dr D Rodda and his team. The total experience of initial consultations, the procedure and post op visits was excellent. Dr Rodda is friendly, genuine, compassionate, caring, reassuring and extremely professional. He provided useful information and answered all questions. After only 3 nights in the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital I was able to get up and down the stairs In our townhouse aided by only one stick. This is evidence of the success of the op. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Dr Rodda and his team to anyone requiring hip replacement.

Procedure of the century by the Team of the century! At 47 I was a younger candidate for a total hip replacement and can't imagine I could have been in better hands than Dr Daevyd Rodda and his wonderful, professional Team. From initial consult, follow up phone conversations, information sessions, surgery day, to post op follow up - all went superbly well. Anterior hip replacement by an expert proponent in the method, here on the Sunshine Coast. He did 4 replacements on 25 Feb 21, and one bloke went home that afternoon - day surgery for a hip replacement! Turned out to be a no brainer after at least 1 false start on my part. Very little post op pain (only the surgery wound) and off any heavy medication within a week. Range of movement as good as the real thing and hip pain non-existent. The D-Rod will have them travelling en masse from Brisbane for hip upgrades before he knows it. Thanks Dr R, Una, Steph, Tash, Renae and the rest of the crew at SC Ortho Group!

Dr Rodda and his support group were excellent. The operation was extremely successful with unaided walking within 3 weeks and after 8 weeks given the all clear to resume normal activities such as golf. The information provided prior to the surgery was very informative giving clear details on what to expect and what your expectations would be if you adhered to the detail as provided. As extremely professional surgeon supported by a great team. I am a very happy patient .

I felt very well serviced from my first appointment right through to my follow up appointment after my bilateral hip replacements. Dr Rodda has a lovely, genuine manner, answered all my questions, and was very reassuring. This service was consistent from the whole team including my anaesthetist, my physician, and the staff at Sunshine Coast Orthopaedic Group. I appreciated the opportunity to attend joint school -which I would recommend attending as it provides an opportunity to not only get some more info, but to meet others who are going to experience the same operation as you. I also appreciated borrowing the ice machines, which were really useful in reducing swelling, & receiving the models of my hips as a memento! Most of all I appreciate the fact that Dr Rodda lived up to his terrific reputation as a surgeon, & my operation has been a success. I wholeheartedly recommend the Sunshine Coast Orthopaedic Group.

Wow!! I can't thank Dr Rodda and his team enough. I researched, very carefully, many Orthopedic Surgeons on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane to make sure I found a Surgeon that fit my lengthy criteria. Anyway, I had my right hip replaced by Dr Rodda with the Anterior Approach and had a ceramic prosthesis inserted. Four hours after my surgery, I was up and walking. Yes, walking, very comfortably. The next morning, not even 24 hours after the operation, I was able to shower and dress myself. I was walking the corridors with crutches and learnt how to walk up and down stairs. After two nights in hospital, I was given the ok to go home. I seriously cannot believe how good I'm feeling. Believe it or not, I am excited to go back in 8 weeks to have the left hip replaced as well. I can't thank you or recommend you enough, Dr Rodda. Cheers Vanessa Jackson

Posting for Brian Kingdom. Just had my 1 year post op review for my hip replacement and I can say that right from the 1st consultation through the operation and post care the service was 2nd to none and pain free after the op. I was back to golf within ten weeks but the operation did nothing to improve my game. I would highly recommend Dr Rodda and all his staff. They together with the staff at the University Private Hospital were excellent and provided the very best care.
