Great spot for Astronomy lovers to appreciate some real classic and modern telescopes, without the effect of light pollution. Book a tour online, drop in and be mesmerised by the content on offer.

Took these with my pixel 4a. Don't let the volunteers tell you you won't get good shots taking photos through their scopes! (But do ask nicely if you may do so after your group has had a peek of the beautiful views of the night sky)

Went there as a nice little trip during the school holidays. The staff, which were mostly volunteers, were all lovely and very welcoming. We got toured around, while stopping by important places where the staff would tell us about its history and other interesting facts, like the century-old telescopes they have. There was also a small museum where they displayed many historical items. Normally, we would have looked at the moon from a telescope but the night was cloudy due to a cyclone, but we were given a voucher with 50% off in case we wanted to try again! Lovely night. They're also trying to get donations so they can fund an upgrade to their museum so they can display more items that we didn't get to see, and maybe repair a telescope that fell into disrepair. I'll be likely going back again soon!

Awesome place to take the family. The guide was very informative and it was easy to see he had a passion for the subject matter. Will definitely come back for a night tour.

Do yourself a favour and head up the hill to experience a journey of self discovery, oh and be amazed at the celestial views and knowledgeable volunteers at Perth's Observatory. Learn interesting facts about the history of Perths astronomy and take a glimpse through some impressive telescopes. Perth Observatory is minimally funded by the WA government so it needs our support to develop and inspire young minds of the future.

A must visit place for lunar and astrophotography. Visited today for taking pictures of the moon. I had an amazing time and felt very welcomed by everyone in the observatory. Special thanks to Roger Groom for all the assistance and help.

The summer lecture was just long enough to give all of the important information and inspire action, without losing interest. Pre lecture there was access to a coffee van and food van. The food van offered picnic meals, beverages, and picnic blankets to use. Post lecture there was a short night sky tour led by an enthusiastic and passionate gentleman who easily captured the audiences attention. The museum was small however the observatory is working with a small space. And smaller is the gift shop, again, very limited space. The volunteers were friendly and would do their best to help in whatever way they can. You can certainly tell they have been there for a while and know their way around. Overall, the event was very well planned and I will definitely be returning for the next lecture.

Kudos to the volunteers. Had a great time. The volunteers are all knowledgeable. Great starry night. It is worth the visit. They need the support of visitors.
