Appalled at the service of this centre. If the lady at the counter could have glared at my son any harder while he explaining his issue her, her eyes would have fallen out of her head. Then to send him away without treatment is absurd. This forced us to seek treatment in Adelaide which he received immediately. And to suggest your hospital doesn't have the most basic of equipment is simply ludicrous. Shame on you
This ED is privately owned, my friend was admitted by ambulance, not thoroughly checked, told to go home, 66 gap fee, back in after a week with same pain, told to go home again, another 66 gap fee. Her friend called from Adelaide as he had the only keys but they were very rude to him and hung up on him, he presumed they would keep her in for observation and tests and could pick her up the next day when back from Adelaide. They threatened to break into her flat or put her in a hotel if she was not picked up, if they put her in hospital then they cannot claim their fee from medicare and gap fee. Appalling treatment because they are a monopoly and cash comes before care. Disappointing service.
Staff are friendly enough, but take many light years to see you. I understand, it is in order of emergency, but it would be nice to have someone come and see how your doing every couple of hours (not exaggerating)!!! It is extremly difficult when you are in an uncomfortable situation that is not an emergency, but still needs to be fixed in a hurry. This meaning you will be put as a last priority .. No one checks in on you in the waiting room, you are expected to sit there for hours. with no idea when the doctor will see you..
As much as nobody likes going to a ED, the staff were extremely helpful and understanding, especially on a Saturday night.
