I have been under the care of Prof Van Der Poorten since I was diagnosed in 2010 and I’m just so happy with the way he has been treating me. He is fantastic, a great communicator, he breaks things down for me and educates me every time we’re about to embark on a new journey (a new drug or a new symptom). He’s highly knowledgeable and I love the fact that he’s always keeping up with the new studies and is keen to share his new knowledge with me. He makes me feel cared for, I feel he genuinely cares for his patience and wants the best for them. His confidence also puts me at ease. Can’t recommend him enough.

Prof van der Poorten has been treating me for the past 8 years, ever since my daughter Chloe was referred to him for follow up on her Crohn's disease. She was diagnosed as a 13 year old and was finding it hard to adjust to adult gastroenterologist moving on from her pediatric team once she turned 18. Our experience of Prof van der Poorten and his team has been terrific. His team is professional and personable with genuine concern shown for post op recovery.
