Rug up and head up here on a windy night for a full on sensory assault. The roar of the ocean, cold wind blowing through your hair. Shooting stars are like fireworks. Cities glowing on one horizon and ships blinking on the other. Breathtakingly beautiful.

Great place for kids safe swimming in the river or for the more adventurous the sea is right there. Be prepared for crowds as plenty of people have the same idea on a warm day.
Has access to both beaches and decent walking tracks for the fitness inclined so worth a look while in town.

Good place to spend some time early in the morning
This is a good short walk along the Barwon River, up the wooden steps and out along the bluff over looking Bass Straight and 13th Beach. There are spectacular views at various points along the way. Lots of history with stories of shipwrecks and their survivors struggling to get to Geelong etc.
Nice beaches both river and ocean, yummy cafe food in main street. Great tourist vibe in this town
