A local swimming hole created by local volcanic rock by south sea islanders. It’s a fantastic place to bring your kids for a cool down in the hotter summer months, and has a large rocky area to explore and discover some wonderful marine animals and sponges and corals etc. has plenty of parking and fresh water showers to Clean off after the day of fun in the sun and the area also has a large undercover table and chair construction to picnic under out of the direct heat of the sun. The playgrounds around here a really well built and the kids seems to love it. Definitely a must say trip visit.

This is a fantastic spot. The basin is sheltered by a rock wall which makes it a great place for families. The park & facilities right nearby are excellent. In addition, we had a great time snorkeling in the basin - there was a huge amount of fish & interesting things to see. A really good spot for beginner snorkeling.

Can you keep a secret? This is one of my most favourite places to be. Walk on the beach, build sandcastles, swim in the lagoon, enjoy the surf, have a bbq, children love the playground, sit awhile and enjoy the view, stop, breathe, relax. Shhh, don't tell anyone.

This is a great spot to take the kids for a swim in still water. The Basin is quite shallow but it is still tidal so the water level varies. We found that there were many fish to see if you want to go snorkeling here. The shore and most of the bottom of the Basin are sandy. There are rock walls all around. The Basin is right next to Christsen Park. The park is in beautiful condition and has all new amenities. There are many covered picnic tables, toilets, electric barbecues and a large playground.
