We thought long and hard about the financial commitment required to send our children to the Hunter Valley Grammar School but it turned out to be the best investment we could ever make for the most important people in our life. At this juncture I have four years experience with the Hunter Valley Grammar School and as both my children are attending the senior school, we are now at the halfway point of our HVGS journey. Both my children absolutely love going to school there and have made wonderful friendships and had amazing experiences. The beautifully kept grounds, the well equipped classrooms, the dedicated and attentive Teachers, the sporting facilities and first class coaches, the lovely families we've met and the joy of seeing our children thrive is what makes this school the right choice for us.

I stayed at this school for a year and I have no interest in returning. My family was promised that students with special needs would receive extra help. This was a complete lie, not once did they do anything to help me and if anything they went out of their way to ignore me and my needs. I have nightmares about this school and its teachers. I highly recommend you pick another school.

My grand daughter loves going to school every day - and always has. HVGS is a nurturing and positive place in which to learn and just "be". The school's ethos encompasses the "Values for Living", and the tone of the school absolutely reflects those values in action.

Absolutely impressed with HVGS. Our son has attended for the last 18 months and can't speak highly enough of the entire school. Great place with open spaces, the best facilities, caring and committed teaching staff and exceptional opportunities for every student.

This school has a huge bullying problem!!! They have a bullying policy, but no teacher or any staff member inforces it. Everyone who works there turns a blind eye to any and every student being bullied from Kindy to year 12. Parents complain and this school brushes the parents off. Don’t send your child to this school! There duty of care isn’t there. No staff member cares about the students well-being or welfare.

I would like to counter the post below as the Mum of the only Redmayne children who have attended or are attending HVGS. This school has offered my children the best choices for study and co-curricular activities from junior school all the way through to Year 12 for preparation for studies at the Tertiary level. Both of my children have excelled in the areas of study that interested them and have been well supported by excellent teaching staff and support systems in the school. Whoever Victoria Redmayne is....she is not a parent of a child that has attended this school and is therefore not in an informed position to make any negative comments, such as those posted below. As this is the final year of me being a parent at the school I would like to wish the school staff and students every success in the future.
