Stopped in after hearing about the new renovations of Ashgrove Cheese Dairy and was not disappointed. The display the have made about how the cheese is made and the windows to the factory where all the types of cheese are made is great. Our kids enjoyed reading and looking at all the displays before getting a icecream. All the cows outside on display are just works of art andcthe kids enjoyed looking at each one before my wife and i went into the shop to get our selections of cheeses to bring home. The cheese varieties are great and choosing which one to eat was a hard task. The cheese is so smooth and creamy and the garlic and herb butter was great. Will have to go back if in the area or we will just order more online.

Just visited for the first time since the refurbishment....staff are friendly and helpful but need some ironing out of their service.....asked what a particular item was at the register (little biscuit/cake) and if they knew what it was & what was in it....gave it a name which we’d never heard of & no idea what was in it......appeared to have difficulty keeping track of orders/tables ..... bit of practice to make perfect.....as locals we’ll be back as it’s a good place to stop for a coffee and an ice cream......
Was excited to go to Ashgrove since I heard great things from this cheese factory. We arrived at 4:50pm on the way home from Devonport. Walked in and wasn’t greeted by staff. Most of the cafeteria area was packed up and cleaning had begun. They have advertised closing time of 5:30pm so I assumed they’d start their pack up after 5:30? Maybe things are done differently in Tasmania. Went to look at the cheese and no one was very helpful to us. We got the vibe they just wanted us to purchase and leave. I felt really unwelcome and decided to leave immediately. Won’t be coming back again!
Being a cheese lover this was amazing, the food and service was top notch. Definitely 5 star!
They finally reopened today after a major shut down, refurbishment. Excellent produce, I will be back again before I leave Tassie
Have not been there, but I love their cheeses, especially their Cold Smoked Havarti
En-route to have a look at this cheese factory. Said to be pretty famous and nice. Pretty decent place and they have a wide variety of cheese available. There are lot of samplings available too.
The ice cream was amazing, various kinds of cheese, lollies and honey. You can taste a heap of cheeses and honey as well as. It’s quite worthy to have a look of it. Cheers
