My previous, highly critical review of this business has been removed by Google for which I may only assume that the owners have marked it as being inappropriate, which it wasn’t, it was jolly well scathing for which I’ll start again, and keep persisting. This small shop has an interesting range of period lighting, we ordering two lamps and leaving a 50% deposit, being asked to return in a month as the items needed to be ordered from a supplier in Adelaide, fair enough. A month later, we returned, the lamps weren’t there, we speaking to a chap who identified himself as the owner could find no record of our order although we produced the receipt. Then, the lies started cascading from his mouth, “...the supplier’s website is down...they’re not answering their phone or emails...my wife does the bookkeeping, she only works on Tuesday and Thursday, she’s been sick...&c”, it sounding very much like a schoolchild’s, “the dog ate my homework.” Avoid this business, there are much better ones around.

He also delivered them to our home and even came back the next day to deliver a connection we needed for installation. The rudest staff i have ever come across (especially the old woman)! Messy, hazardous with items scattered everywhere and prices which make you just run for the door! You can get much cheaper prices elsewhere if you just shop around (Schots Emporium is much better to deal with and half the price - just ensure they're products not from Domino Brass in Tullamarine who are an equally rubbish company to deal with).

Dear MS K Gatt Let me first Acknowledge that mistakes were made with your last order but these were rectified and your goods were delivered to your home. This was at a time when the Covid 19 had just hit and everyone was working at greatly raised stress levels and we were unsure whether our business could continue. Unfortunately you felt that you should vent your displeasure to myself & another employee in an abusive manner. For too long now retail workers have had to be "The Punching Bags" for customer who are "Always Right" but at Memory Lane we will not tolerate abuse and for that reason when you rang, after hours I might point out, I informed you that we no longer wished to do business with you. I later found out that you rang another employee, after hours, so that you could add my name to your keyboard rant designed to denigrate a small family business of 30 years standing. Memory Lane will continue to offer high quality products and service as always.
